Week 14 — WTI is not spot oil
If you open Pattern Forge and pick WTI Oil, you are not looking at Cushing cash or a CME settlement. You are looking at an hourly Polymarket Perps recording I copied into the app.
I read the numbers below from the committed JSON on 6 September 2026. I did not rebuild the parquet, and I did not splice a live oil feed on top.
What is in the file
| Symbol | WTIOIL-USD |
|---|---|
| Venue | Polymarket Perps, 1-hour bars |
| UTC range | 7 May 2026 10:00 → 22 August 2026 00:00 |
| Closed bars | 2,482 |
| Gaps | 42 hours, left empty |
| First close → last close | 90.0 → 86.7 |
| Close range | 67.229 – 104.5 |
| Bar high / low | 109.2 / 60.0 on this contract |
| Input hash | 6733ae8ec1646133… (SHA-256 of the source parquet) |
Replay only uses candles up to the cursor. Later prices stay out of the indicators. Incomplete higher-timeframe groups are dropped. The public demo has no PostgreSQL; storage in CI is a different path, not this file’s venue.
This is a perpetual-contract tape with holes. It is not a forecast, and it is not physical oil.
Next: walk the same file under replay, mark the 42 missing hours, and only then talk about a move on complete bars.
